ABOUT THE
TWO GEORGIAS INITIATIVE
HISTORY.
In 2017, Healthcare Georgia Foundation awarded planning grants to 11 rural community health coalitions seeking to improve health equity in their communities. The Foundation subsequently awarded the 11 communities implementation grants in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
The goal of the Two Georgias Initiative is to foster health equity by supporting these local coalitions as they address health disparities, improve health, and expand access to quality healthcare services in Georgia's rural communities. One's health should not be determined by their place of residence or their zip code.
